Are you ready for another fun challenge over at the Creative Fingers Challenge blog?  This week we are sponsored by our very own Angelique!  Angelique is generously giving away a fun stamp set to our lucky winner so come over and share your wonderful creations with.  As always, our challenge is Anything Goes and I can’t wait to see what you create!  I have created this simple handcrafted just because card titled Daisy Girl.

The Image

Because Angelique is sponsoring our awesome challenge this week, the Design Team members were able to use any image they chose.  I chose one of my favorite digital stamp companies, Bugaboo Stamps.  This sweet image is one of my all time favorites!  I just love the large flower and the sweet girl.  The image was colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  Then I used my Stitched Rectangle Die set from Tim Holtz and Sizzix to cut the image out.  Isn’t she adorable?

The Background

A while ago I was experimenting with my daisy stamp from Tim Holtz and I randomly stamped the image over a white card blank.  I wasn’t very happy with the placement of the flowers, but I never throw anything out!  Just ask my husband.  Along the way I decided to play with some Distress Sprays and water.  There was a bunch of ink still on my craft mat so I just pressed the previous daisy background onto it.  Again, I just wasn’t happy with the colors for the project I was working on at the time and I set the card blank aside.

Well, I have finally found an image that I really liked with the background.  I know that the reds, oranges and greens don;t match the background, but I just loved the contrast.  First, I added a scrap piece of red foil card stock to the upper right corner of the die cut image.  Then, I placed both pieces over the previously created background.  I love it!

Completing the Card

To complete this card, I decided to use a “Just Because” sentiment.  Originally, I stamped the sentiment directly n the background using Red StazOn Ink, but it was a little crooked.  I really need to get a Misti!  It is on my Birthday Wish List!  So I stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of white card stock and die cut it with a label die from Sizzix.  Finally, I outlined the die with a red pen and added red rhinestones to wither side.

The Completed Card

The Completed Card

One of the best bits of advice that I have received from my mother about crafting and creating art is, “It doesn’t have to be perfect to be perfect!”  This card was created using a few mistakes created in the past and has a few mistakes covered up with other elements and it came out just perfect!

I would love to hear how you have turned something imperfect into a masterpiece!  Please share your experiences in the comments below and don’t forget to come play along with us!

I am entering this card into the following challenges.  Please take a moment to check out these other great challenges and their talented Design Teams!
